Chartered in 1986, SI of the Langleys is proud to be part of the generous fabric of the Township and City of Langley.

The club actively participates in community projects and improves the lives of many through volunteering their time and financial support for a variety of projects, programs and causes.

Their innovative ideas of service work and fun fund raising helps them ‘get the attention’ of their community. The residents, businesses and politicians of The Langleys’ are strong supporters of their Soroptimists which results in productive & successful team work. The club has become well known in their community for their annual Womens’ Health Forum which focuses on timely heath issues of importance to women.

For over 20 years, the club has co-hosted a Candle Light Vigil to observe the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on November 25th.

In recent years fundraising events have included the popular Robbie Burns Night, Power of the Purse and the very successful Christmas Basket Raffle.

SI of the Langleys provides financial assistance to several local organizations whose programs support women and girls.  Currently these organizations (in addition to others) include:

  • Children of the Street

  • Douglas Park Community School Breakfast Program

  • Encompass/Best Babies

  • Langley Memorial Hospital

  • Langley Seniors Resource Society

  • Pacific Riding for Developing Abilities

The club is pleased to provide an average of three (3) Live Your Dream Awards annually to deserving women in the community.  These awards assist these women in creating a world of economic stability and advancement for themselves and their families.

In recent years, club members have presented a customized Dream It Be It Career Support for Girls program. The club has teamed up with the Langley Boys & Girls Club to present a program to their Girls Club. The connection that has been made between the generations of women and girls is one that is rewarding for all involved.
