Chartered in 1986.

SI Osoyoos was chartered in 1986 and serves the South Okanagan communities of Penticton, Oliver, Keremeos and of course Osoyoos, all located in the heart of Okanagan wine country.

Our major fundraising activities include fashion shows, yard sales and hosting the community website.  A tradition for us for many years, our Rocking Horse Raffle provides financial support for the South Okanagan Safe House for women and children.  Raffle tickets are available through the month of December.

The community website is our main fundraiser and supplements most of our projects.  Club members sell “pages” for $50 a year it includes one picture and links to their own sites.  There is a wealth of information on Osoyoos and it has been of real interest to locals and people planning to visit or move to the area.  We are able to donate $3,000 to $5,000 annually to local projects from this source.

SI Osoyoos supports many local projects as well as SI international projects.  Some of our local projects are the Food Bank, Women’s Shelter, High School Bursaries, “Be the Change” teen program in the High Schools; Stop Human Trafficking and other community programs as they arise.  We also support all the Soroptimist International awards such as Women’s Opportunity Award, the Ruby Award and the Violet Richardson Award. These awards are given to women in our area with the opportunity to advance on to higher awards from the Region through to the Federation level.  For further information on these awards you can contact us at

If you would be interested in becoming a Soroptimist or want to learn more about Soroptimism you can contact our club at or join us at one of our monthly dinner meetings.  Dinner meetings change locations monthly but they are held at 6:30pm the third Tuesday of each month.  Contact club for current location.  Board meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month  at 7:00 pm at the Cactus Centre in Osoyoos.
