Our dynamic club of 20 women of diverse ages and backgrounds is active in Abbotsford and Mission. We currently hold two major events each year – a dinner and auction fundraiser in November and our Awards luncheon in April. Our fundraising efforts support our mission of improving the lives of women and girls. We partner with an organization that supports women for our auction; last year’s event raised over $12,000 for the Warm Zone, a drop in center in Abbotsford for homeless, street engaged women. Our awards luncheon is an inspiring event where we present our Women’s Opportunity Award, Violet Richardson Award and Ruby Award.
The Women’s Opportunity Award is a financial bursary awarded to a woman who is the head of her household and is returning to school in order to better support her family. The Violet Richardson Award is awarded to a young woman age 14 – 17 who benefits her community through her volunteer efforts. The Ruby Award is awarded to a local woman who is making a difference for women and girls in our community.
Our fundraising efforts support many local organizations including: Fraser Valley Child Development Center, Impact Substance Abuse Prevention, New Beginnings, Peardonville House for women and the Women’s Resource Society of the Fraser Valley.
We meet on the second Wednesday of the month (other than July and August) at 6PM at local restaurants. Please contact us for the location of our next dinner and business meeting. We welcome visitors!
