SI of Vancouver Charter Year: 1926  The inaugural banquet of SI Vancouver was held in the Hotel Vancouver on April 26, 1926. It was the first Soroptimist club chartered in Canada. The club was the first on the continent to open a home for impoverished elderly women. SI Vancouver has raised funds through casinos, entertainment book sales, theatre nights and many other fundraisers. This club has supported too many charities to name and has provided many board members for other organizations. Projects are generally linked to social housing and to the advancement of women of all ages, youth to senior.
