SI of Surrey/Delta

Charter Year: 1995

SI Surrey/Delta membership continues to increase as we become more visible in the community. Our members are hard working, energetic and dedicated women, supporting many local projects and organizations within our community that directly impact women, children, health, and advocacy. Through our valued membership with The Surrey Chamber of Commerce and The Surrey Interagency Network, we pursue new projects involving those services in our community that would benefit from our assistance. We value each benefit of membership, and we hold dear the vision that because of our commitment and passion, we are contributing to making a difference for women and children worldwide.

Some of the projects and organizations we support in our community include Women's Transition Houses, The Fraser Valley Cancer Centre, SOS Children's Village, Surrey Women's Centre Society, Newton Advocacy Group Society, Flame of Hope AIDS Benefit Society, The Surrey Food Bank, South Fraser Community Services Society (besides contributing financially, we cook and serve one meal a year to the homeless), and SAS Surrey (assisting sexually exploited young women). Additionally, SI Surrey/Delta has purchased dogs for the visually and/or physically impaired, marched in The Take Back the Night March, sorted Christmas donations at the food bank, sponsored several families at Christmas, and distributed purple "end domestic violence" cards throughout our community.
